The Ron Paul Effect

Ron Paul won the Republican debate and no one heard about it.

ABC News was forced to eat crow when they did not include Ron Paul on their post-debate online poll. After many angry emails and phone calls, ABC included Paul, who went on to win the ABC poll easily. Paul also won 2 MSNBC polls, and a CSPAN poll by a considerable margin.
ABC Poll:
Ron Paul
14,741
It doesn't matter who won. I wouldn't put America in another Republican's hands.
1,465
None of them. I'm interested in the possibility of new candidates like Fred Thompson.
237
Mitt Romney
214
Rudy Guiliani
204
John McCain
122
ABC News story on Paul, "The Ron Paul Effect."

It seems that when I watch network news, I get fed only a few candidates. On the Republican side, I hear only McCain, Romney, and Guliani and on the Democratic side, it is all about Obama and Clinton. It seems like the choices have been made for us.

Two guys you probably haven't heard of are Ron Paul(R) and
Dennis Kucinich(D). See, I'm fair and balanced. (Can I type that, or does Rupert Murdoch own the phrase?)

Both men,
Ron Paul(R) and Dennis Kucinich(D), stood up for the United States Constitution in their respective debates.

There is something seriously wrong with a story like the ABC story itself, not necessarily the posted article. Although, it seems that ABC is trying to weasel it's way out of it's own poll results, and MSNBC's, and CSPANS, and bury a candidate.
What's more likely, based on Web traffic over the past week, is that Paul supporters have mastered the art of "viral marketing," using Internet savvy and blog postings to create at least the perception of momentum for his long-shot presidential bid.

Since online polls aren't scientific -- people choose to take them, and many people vote multiple times -- doing well in them doesn't necessarily mean a campaign is on the move.
--ABC News
YahooNews! doesn't even have Paul on their "Full Presidential Coverage." Yet, Yahoo posted this cryptic story, "Ron Paul wins MSNBC debate poll." I think it's strange. It's not really an article. It seems to me like CYA. In the sense that it gives them plausible deniability because it came from Ron Paul's Presidential Campaign Committee. How can you believe that?

How can Yahoo ignore a candidate in their "Full Presidential Coverage" whom they clearly acknowledge as the winner of the GOP debate? Why else run the story? It doesn't make sense.

There is something seriously wrong with the Presidential election process when the mass corporate media is making the decisions about whom we do or don't hear about. Wake up.

Since the debate on May 3, Ron Paul:

* Handily won two post-debate polls posted by event sponsor MSNBC
* Placed a close third (18%) in a post-debate poll on the conservative Drudge Report
* Won an ABCNews.com online debate poll with 84%
* Won a C-SPAN online GOP candidate poll with 69%
* Became the third most-mentioned person in the blogosphere, beating out Paris Hilton, according to the reputable Technorati.com
* Produced a YouTube.com video that was ranked the 8th most popular overall video, and the most-viewed political video
* Was featured, by popular demand, on the front of Digg.com
* Generated so many bulletin posts on MySpace.com that the site owner News Corp. blocked all additional posts about Dr. Paul
* Became a "most searched" term on Google and Yahoo!
* Saw a quadrupling of daily visitors to RonPaul2008.com

But, don't just take my word on anything. Look it up, read it for yourself on the "internets" and form your own opinion.

The Ron Paul Effect on Fox News

Faux News "You Decide 2008" viewers have spoken up about Tuesday night's GOP Presidential debate, and unfortunately for Faux News, the result was not what they wanted to hear.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul, who ignited controversy at the debate with remarks that U.S. policy had invited the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, came in second with 25 percent. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who strongly admonished Paul for his comments, came in third place with 19 percent. Arizona Sen. John McCain, who is the frontrunner in South Carolina polls, came in sixth with 5 percent.

GOP Debate Text-Vote Results

— 29% Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney

— 25% Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas

— 19% Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani
--Faux News

So, in typical fashion, they just went ahead and made up the news. Somehow, Faux News declared Rudy Giuliani to be the top GOP Presidential candidate. Polls and the people be damned! See the Faux "You Decide" Poll page.

Faux's Presidential coverage should be titled, "Faux Decides 2008" because Faux is not listening to it's viewers. Personally, I watch Faux as little as possible because, despite what the medical establishment tells us, I believe stupid is contagious.

When Ron Paul injected reason into the GOP Debate by saying essentially that U.S. foreign policy had led to 9/11, Faux News came out swinging with it's "crazy right" and "not so left" attack hacks Hannity and Colmes.

Hannity, "How dare you...911...blah, blah, blah."

And not to be out done, Colmes, "How dare you...anti-abortion...yada, yada, yada." Fair and balanced? Hardly.

Attack Hacks Hannity and Colmes

For the benefit of the Faux News crowd, Ron Paul was referring to "blowback."

Michael Scheuer, the former head analyst at the CIA’s bin Laden unit, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the Republican Presidential debate held Tuesday May 15, when Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) stated that American foreign policy was a “contributing factor” in the 9/11 attacks.
--AntiWar.com

Again, Ron Paul won the MSNBC Poll, and the ABC News Poll. And Paul was doing very well in the Faux News Poll before they pulled the plug. So, how does Faux News and the GOP respond?

Michigan Republican party chairman Saul Anuzis says he will circulate a petition among Republican National Committee members to ban Paul from more debates.

Pat Buchanan, a true Reagan Republican, has also weighed in on the state of the GOP, and the Gooliani-Paul debate "controversy."

Ron Paul is no TV debater. But up on that stage in Columbia, he was speaking intolerable truths. Understandably, Republicans do not want him back, telling the country how the party blundered into this misbegotten war.

By all means, throw out of the debate the only man who was right from the beginning on Iraq.

Ron Paul "Schools" Rudy Giuliani

After earning a reputation as an independent-minded politician, attacked by fellow Republicans for his unconventional viewpoints and championed by some liberals, Paul garnered attention in a recent debate between Republican candidates by arguing with Giuliani as to the role of US foreign policy in the 9/11 attacks. After defending his position, Paul described his hope that Giuliani may learn a little about the issue from a reading list provided to him by the Texas congressman.

"We have Mr. Giuliani studying tonight," joked Paul. "He's at home reading all those books, and he's gonna apologize to me - he's gonna say, 'I'm sorry Ron, I just didn't know that that's the way foreign policy works.'"

Fox And Friends Tries To Expain Ron Paul's Poll Results

I can't believe that Steve "Douchebag" Doocy called Ron Paul another "Sanjaya."

According to Doocy, getting 10,000 people on the internet to agree is not that tough, then, Doocy goes on to shoot his mouth off about how little he know about technology.

So, it's obvious that Doocy doesn't know crap.

Fox News Explains Rep.Ron Paul's High Vote Count

Doocy's gal pal on "Faux and Friends" is a real twit too. Watch this.

Gretchen Carlson is Stupid Twit.

And, Brian Kilmeade, well, the video speaks for itself.

Don't Do It, Mr. President

It’s a bad idea.
There’s no need for it.
There’s great danger in doing it.
America is against it, and Congress should be.
The United Nations is against it.
The Russians, the Chinese, the Indians, and the Pakistanis are against it.
The whole world is against it.
Our allies are against it.
Our enemies are against it.
The Arabs are against it.
The Europeans are against it.
The Muslims are against it.
We don’t need to do this.
The threat is overblown.
The plan is an hysterical reaction to a problem that does not yet exist.
Hysteria is never a good basis for foreign policy.
Don’t we ever learn?
Have we already forgotten Iraq?
The plan defies common sense.
If it’s carried out, the Middle East, and possibly the world, will explode.
Oil will soar to over $100 a barrel, and gasoline will be over $5 a gallon.
Despite what some think, it won’t serve the interests of Israel.
Besides-- it’s illegal.
It’s unconstitutional.
And you have no moral authority to do it.
We don’t need it.
We don’t want it.
So, Mr. President, don’t do it.
Don’t bomb Iran!
The moral of the story, Mr. Speaker, is this: if you don’t have a nuke, we’ll threaten to attack you. If you do have a nuke, we’ll leave you alone. In fact, we’ll probably subsidize you. What makes us think Iran does not understand this?
